2003 GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE SMALL BUSINESS SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR Left to right, Jim McQueeney, Gulfstream VP Material, Stan Blankenship, President AAT, Joe Lombardo, Gulfsteam COO, LaDene Blankenship, Vice President AAT

In 1992, Gulfstream Aerospace contracted with Automated Aircraft Tooling for hydro-blocks to support development of the G-V aircraft. Initially, Gulfstream had a dozen suppliers for hydro-blocks. As the program wound down, Gulfstream dropped the suppliers one-by-one until only Automated Aircraft Tooling remained. AAT would remain the sole source supplier for years to come.

In 2003, Gulfstream recognized the company with "The Small Business Supplier of the Year Award" in a ceremony at the Eighth Air Force Bomber Museum in Savannah Georgia. In 2007, AAT was named "Gulfstream Supplier of the Year".

In 2006, AAT provided development tooling to help Gulfstream select an efficient manufacturing approach for the soon to be launched 650 project. AAT would cut the first metal for pre-prototype parts for the 650 program.

While Gulfstream remains an important customer, AAT has broadened its customer base which reflects the increased capacity made available with new buildings, more seats of Unigraphics (now called NX) and additional milling machines.
